This is the official web site of the SW Washington Lacrosse Association, Vancouver, Washington. Our mission is to coordinate and facilitate all activities related to the Lacrosse, and to honor the game by instilling the values of scholastic achievement, sportsmanship, teamwork, and individual development.
Intro to Lacrosse Clinic - January 28th 2012 @ Pacific Community Park
10:30 am -11:30am - Free Clinic (for new and returning players). Stick only Clinic- Player bring you lacrosse stick and mouth guard. Rain or Shine event!! Q & A - Parents/Players, if you are new to our and have questions - please come by early and ask your questions with our coaching staff.
Clinic is Open to everyone - Clinic designed to teach new players and returning the basics of the game, without having to invest in a full set of equipment. Bring your Mouth Guard and lacrosse stick or lets us if you need to borrow a Sticks for use during the clinic, and no other equipment is required. This is ideal for players who are not sure if they want to play lacrosse but would like to try it out, and also for new players that would like additional help with the basics of lacrosse. Experienced players are encouraged to attend and focus on the basics of the game.
Cleats are recommended. Sneakers are fine too.
Dress for the weather, layers are recommend. In the case of in climate weather, all announcements will be posted on the SW Washington Lacrosse website.

Select tryouts tentatively scheduled for Feb 18th and Feb 24th Boys U15 (Grade 7/8) Lax Players
We have tentatively scheduled our two try out sessions for upcoming spring select teams for Feb 18th and Feb 24th. While we encourage everyone to attend both sessions to show us your talent, you need to make at least one of the two try outs to be considered for the team.
Players must be registered with SWWLA for our spring season program to tryout.
Feb 18th , 2012 Saturday @ Pacific Comm. Park 9am – 10:30am
Feb 24th, 2012 Friday @ Pacific Comm. Park 4pm – 6pm

BOYS SELECT PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Our U15 Titan Select teams for 2012. They expect to play in the highly competitive OYLA league that will compete against other Select teams. SWWLA will require that all Select participants be committed to the sport of lacrosse with practice and game attendance requirements for the spring team. Rosters will be limited, and the head coaches shall make final determination on who participates based upon skill level. There is always the possibility that your son may be asked to spend some time playing on a spring team to "Hone his Game" and called up at a later date when progress is shown.
All the teams will play against other OYLA with similarly constructed teams and may also play against some skill level appropriate all-star teams. There will also be 2 travel tournaments that all players will be expected to participate in with possibly an additional tournament this summer and fall. Players that make the team will be provided Team uniforms (full sleeve Jersey & shorts) that are theirs to keep.

For spring 2012, we intend to take the first 20 paid registration at the grade 5/6 and 7/8 levels (16 paid registrations at the grade 3-4 level). Paid registration after the first 20 (16 at the 3-4 level) will be placed on a waiting list. If we get to 30 registrations (24 at 3-4 level), we will actively pursue a potential coach and create a second team.
We will expect lacrosse to be the first extracurricular commitment during the spring. We do encourage other activities; however the nature of a team sport dictates a high commitment to the others on the team. Missing practice hurts the team AND the individual. Please consider your commitment level before registering.
Free Rental Equipment Provided for both NEW Players & Returning Players, while supplies last.
Due to a limited supply of Equipment will be distributed on a First-Registered-First-Served basis.
