Coaches and staff of the SW Washington Lacrosse Association (SWWLA) welcome you to the 2012 lacrosse season. For those of you unfamiliar with our program, the SWWLA is a total volunteer organization. We are not sponsored or funded by the school district or the City’s recreation department. The program is run by volunteer coaching staff along with the assistance of the parents of all players. We are dedicated to the instruction of the game of lacrosse, sportsmanship, teamwork, and fair play. The SWWLA is open to all students who reside within the boundaries of the Clark County school district and those surrounding towns that do not currently field a youth lacrosse team.

A mandatory parent meeting for all families participating in the spring season program will be held on Early February 2012. The goal of this meeting is to give the parents and opportunity to meet the coaches, ask questions about the program, and hear about the various volunteer opportunities that need to be filled to assure a successful season for the players.
Equipment for the 2012 Spring Season: Each player must provide his or her own equipment. Girls will need a stick, goggles, and a mouth guard. Boys will need a helmet, shoulder pads, arm guards, gloves, stick, mouth guard, and athletic supporter.
SW Washington Lacrosse “FREE” rental program – FREE Rental Gear is available for both
new and returning players participating in
SWWLA spring competitive season ONLY. We will provide helmets, shoulder pads, arm pads and gloves for use during the spring competitive season. Due to a
limited supply of Equipment will be distributed on a
First-Registered-First-Served basis.
Another reason to register Early! CONCUSSION: All players and parents are required to read and sign the concussion policy letter. This form will be available to print out during online registration.
VOLUNTEER "Opt out" FEE: SW Washington Lacrosse Association has adopted a volunteer "Opt out" fee similar to other youth sports organizations. It takes a lot of volunteers to run the Lacrosse program, some positions involving much time and others just a few hours. The Association requests that at least one parent from each family sign up for a minimum of one volunteer position. For those unable to commit to do so, the SWWLA offers a Volunteer Opt-out option in which a family can pay a $25 fee in lieu of volunteering. During the online registration process, you will be asked to choose a volunteer position or opt out fee.
Finally, we are sure that the SW Washington Youth Lacrosse experience will be a positive one for you and your player. If you have additional questions contact Manju Mayachar at 360 4509023 or e-mail at mmayachar@hotmail.com. Please make a note of this contact information for future reference.
Sincerely,
SW Washington Lacrosse Association
