SW Washington Lacrosse relies upon your help to organize and operate the league each year. Whether you're willing to take a leadership role, or merely help out at one of our events, we want to hear from you! SWWLA Committee
Registrar: Manage online registration process; create team rosters; attend monthly board meetings attend monthly board meetings.
Youth Teams Coordinator: Forward communication from the league and coaches to all youth players and parents (primarily email). Oversee and/or support coaches for game scheduling. Work with Field coordinator on practice and game schedules. Work with webmaster to update youth team calendars on website. Provide administrative support for tournament participation and off-season activities.
Equipment Manager: Purchase and distribute team equipment (balls, timer/scorer box, first aid kits, goals, etc); responsible for off season equipment storage in rental storage space.
Field Coordinator: Request and schedule field space for practice and home games; act as contact between field entity and teams; follow up on special space requests as needed; advocate for SW Washington Lacrosse field usage when needed; oversee that usage rules are being followed by teams and fields are well maintained.
Fund Raising: Organize and promote various fund raising activities within the club.
Photography/Video Coordinator: Coordinate photography/Video at games
Publicity: Promote SW Washington Lacrosse in the community through the local media, especially at registration time; notify local school newsletters of registration and season games; coordinate events with fund Raising Coordinator. Coordinate efforts with OYLA representative.
Spirit Gear Coordinator: Order Spirit Gear merchandise and distribute for sale among the various team sales representatives; maintain merchandise inventory; coordinate sales at home games, parents’ nights and other events.
Team Pictures: Contract with professional photographer to take team and individual pictures. Schedule teams for picture day. Distribute picture forms to teams/families. Work with photographer on picture day to organize teams/player and collect order forms if need be. Coordinate with publicity and/or fundraising teams for production of club program.
Uniform Manager: Order shorts, new jersey’s and pennies as needed through lacrosse equipment vendor; distribute uniforms at beginning of season and collect/store them at season s end for storage in rental storage space.
Webmaster: coordinate website information; post team information on site; report to Board on site effectiveness and usage.
Volunteers Needed
Team Parent(s): Coordinate team volunteers; act as information conduit between the club, players and coaches; provide assistance to coaches as needed; assist in game transportation; coordinate snack, timer and scorer schedule; order team awards and certificates; oversee organization of team party and purchase coaches gifts.
Game Day Equipment Set Up: Coordinate set up of timer table, scoreboard, collect and store equipment at game’s end.
Field Lining & Maintenance: Line field prior to game.
Scorers & Timers: Two people needed to keep stats during ALL games and then input data (preferable the same day) for coaches to review. Training is provided.
Spirit Gear Sales: Maintain team spirit wear stock and sell at home games; coordinate w/ club spirit wear manager.
Picture Day: Assist photography coordinator with paper work and photo set up; distribute team photos at season s end.
