Q: Can my child play lacrosse and Baseball (or soccer, etc.)?
A: The short answer is that it is up to you… but please consider the following before making the decision: What do you hope to accomplish by playing two sports, and what commitment are you going to make to each? We tell players that they should commit to the in-season sport. If you play fall soccer and want to also play fall lacrosse, you can do both, but should give soccer first priority; However, in the spring, lacrosse is the in-season sport, and should take priority over spring soccer. – This means being willing to miss a soccer game to make a lacrosse practice! We don’t believe you should try to play two in-season sports. You would not be treating either team fairly. For this reason we discourage trying to play spring lacrosse and spring baseball. Not only will you miss-out on a lot from each sport; you could be bumping someone out of the program that really wants to play and is willing to commit to it. Our advice is that if you like baseball, stick with it until you loose interest. Then you can try lacrosse. If you do decide to play two in-season sports, please notify us during registration so we can place you with a coach that is more tolerant to this.

Q: Why do we have a strong and well-defined attendance policy?
A: Respect -- Respect for your coach, your teammates and yourself. Coaches spend considerable time planning practices to teach skill and prepare for games. A practice plan relies on consistent attendance from all players. With just a few late or missing players, a practice plan can be thrown out the window.

Teamwork -- Lacrosse is a team sport. Teamwork is a "life skill" that stays with young athletes long after they stop playing sports. It often makes them better in social, educational and, eventually, professional environments.

Commitment -- On a team, the group suffers unless everyone is committed to its success. Commitment requires that everyone show up ready to play on time every session. Showing up "when you feel like it" just doesn't cut it in SWWLA Lacrosse, just like it doesn't cut it when you are a member of a musical band, a theatrical play, or any other group activity. Making commitments and fulfilling them are important in both sports and life. We want to send the right message to our players.

The life skills learned in youth sports are much more sustaining than the sports skills that they learn (although we care a lot about developing sports skills, too.)

Q: When do I need my equipment?

Q: Where do I get equipment?
