REGISTRATION FOR SPRING SEASON
Both Online and Mailin Registration for the regular spring season will occur in November/December. The regular season is from February to Mid-June.
General Information
SW Washington Lacrosse is comprised of the following teams, each limited to 18-20 players:
Grade level
3rd and 4th grade
5th and 6th grade
7th and 8th grade
Note: If a Player is in public high school, they are NOT eligible to play on any SWWLA Youth Teams. But check out www.Unionhslacrosseclub.org
Practices are typically two to three evenings during the week for all teams. Our home practice fields are Pacific Community Park for Evergreen Youth Lacrosse (Evergreen, Camas School District) Players and Memorial Field for Vancouver Youth Lacrosse (Vancouver, Battleground School District) Players. In 2012, we are introducing new club - Camas Youth Lacrosse for Players in Camas & Washougal school District.
Lacrosse Equipment & Rental Gear
Each player is expected to have their own gear, including a helmet, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, athletic protector cup, and a lacrosse stick. The SWWLA is one of few programs that offer FREE Rental gear for NEW & Returning players during regular spring season – availability is based on first come and first serve with priority to NEW players to our Association.
Games are on during the week days. Practices start in Mid-February; games begin around the first week of April. There are ten games total, scheduled through the First week in June.
The 3/4 and 5/6 leagues are generally oriented towards the development of skills and knowledge of the game. No records or standings are kept for games. Everyone plays all positions. The 7/8 league is more competitive, but the emphasis is still towards development of both individual and team skills.
Prior lacrosse experience is not necessary for any level.
Because of the limited space available on our teams, and the large number of players who are turned away every season, players are expected to make a reasonably full commitment to attending all practices and games. Players who do not have the ability to make this level of commitment will be asked to forfeit their roster space for use by another player willing to make the commitment to the program.
Registration and Team Formation Guidelines
There is tremendous interest in Youth Lacrosse in the Vancouver, WA Area. We would love to include every single interested player, but we unfortunately cannot expand our program beyond the number of players and teams we currently have. This is primarily due to the limited availability of practice/game fields and coaching staff.
Returning players will be given first preference in the registration process. Depending upon space available, registration will be open for new players, with the following structure:
A US Lacrosse membership number will be required to complete registration. Memberships are available at www.uslacrosse.org. Registrations will not be considered complete without confirmation of membership - NO exceptions.

FAQ
Why does registration take place in November for a spring sport?
Why does registration take place in November for a spring sport?
- We have several key commitments that have to be made in advance. We have to reserve practice and game field space, in fact some of the 2012 field fees have all ready been prepaid.
- We need to find and train coaches for each team
- We need to order game jerseys and team supplies for March games.
- We have a limited amount of space and coaching expertise.
- We give returning players preference.
- We do not want to register players and then have to return money when there is not space.
- Emailing our registrar is the simplest quickest way to find out, however, the Program Director is in charge of reviewing team status and player availability. The Program Director opens spots, the registrar seeks to have them filled usually by the order in which people preregistered.
